The Skeeter Run 5K Fun Run in Knightdale is a part of the NC United Methodist Churches No More Malaria campaign.
The Capital District of the United Methodist Church is working to raise money to support Imagine No Malaria. The Skeeter Run 5K is a part of this campaign to help wipe out malaria.
The 5K Fun Run will take place at the Knightdale Station Park 810 North 1st Avenue, Knightdale, NC 27545. The entire run takes place inside the Park. The course includes 3 laps through the park. The run is not timed - it is intended to be fun for everyone.
The registration fee is $20 online in advance and $30 on the day of the run.
Unlike many other diseases that are awaiting a cure, malaria was eliminated in the U.S. in the 1950s. However, in Sub-Saharan Africa, malaria continues to kill a person every 60 seconds. But there is hope! Imagine No Malaria is part of a global partnership and together with our partners, our generation can beat malaria once and for all.
This is a fun run in that there will few frills other than knowing we’ve come together to help fight malaria. Your entry fee is enough to buy two nets!
