Drops To Hops
A bicycle road race that has something for every level. The event consists of two different length courses that follow mostly secondary roads. You will travel through the valleys and hills of Otsego County.
The “A” race is about 43 miles that is geared towards the “racer” with rolling hills, flats and a nice climb to separate the field .
The “B” race/ride is 25 miles with rolling hills and flats that most abilities can complete and have fun doing it.
The late September race is perfect for fall foliage viewing as you ride. Both of the courses start and finish at Brewery Ommegang with the host offering an after race party with festivities, world famous Ommegang beer(first beer on them) and food for a reasonable cost. The awards ceremony will be held under a tent after the last racer comes in. Overall male/female in each race and also age group awards will be given. Did I mention that the awards are beer if over 21 ;-) Finisher medals to the first 100 registered
"A" DIVISION new this year is dedicated bib numbers to your age group. Bib numbers will be assigned as follows: under 21 will be 150 to 199 then 21 to 29 will be the 200 series. 30 to 39 will be the 300 series and so on. This will let you gauge who is in your age group in a pack for that finish line sprint ..
BOTH DIVISIONS: As in the past at the last sweeping right hand corner there will be cones set up for cars to stay left and bikes to stay right. You will have a lane for two bikes side by side until you get to the corner then you will have the entire right hand lane for the straight away. You must finish in the right hand land as the other will be for vehicle traffic. Please do not cool down back towards the direction of the finish line its to congested with finishers and vehicles. Viewing racers coming in is great but please stay on the grass/field area and off your bike.
