Dust off your legwarmers and headband, get out your favorite tube socks, dress in your wildest 80s style and resolve to get physical in 2018. Run, Walk or break dance to the finish line and afterwards stay for a totally radical good time at Fitness World for the Awards Presentation.

1 out of every 3 adults in Florence County is functionally illiterate. This means that they are unable to fill out a job application, read instructions on a prescription label, or help their children with homework. Illiteracy not only creates a barrier for the illiterate adult, but also for their families, as illiteracy often passes from generation to generation. ”. The Florence Area Literacy Council offers classes for basic literacy, English literacy, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) preparation and Pre-GED preparation. Adult learners have the opportunity to work with a tutor, in small groups, as well as computer lab instruction ensuring that they receive the maximum benefit from their instruction time at the Council.

The Florence Area Literacy Council is working to put an end to inter-generational illiteracy, poverty, unemployment and opening the doors of hope, achievement and independence.
All runners will receive a fun and bright shirt with our awesome logo. Registration deadline for t-shirts is December 6, 2017. We can not guarantee a t-shirt to runners registered after that date.
Finisher Medals will be awarded to all Half Marathon runners. As well as age category medals and overall medals.
Finisher Buttons will be awarded to all 5k Participants. As well as age category medals and overall medals.

Half Marathon: 8:00am (Cut off time 3.5 hours)
5K: 9:00am
Race Location: 902 Second Loop Road Florence, SC
Parking: Far right of the Fitness World Gym Parking Lot and overflow will be across the street parking lot and parking lot of the businesses located beside Fitness World Gyms.
Online registration: ends Wednesday January 25, 2018 at 12:00pm

- 5k Race Day Registration is $30
- Half Marathon Race Day registration is $60.
Cash and Checks for race day registration are preferred. Donations are greatly appreciated, too!
Early Packet Pickup: Friday, January 26, 2018 from 5:30pm-7:00pm
T-shirts: All runners will receive a t-shirt. T-shirts are not guaranteed for runners registered after December 6, 2017 We will plan for extra but can't guarantee size or quantity.
After Party: Awards Ceremony @ 11:00am
