HCMH Food Truck 5k

The Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Foundation and Wellness Center is proud to partner with Explore Elkin to bring you the 3rd annual Food Truck 5K in Elkin, NC.   The race itself will start on the campus of the hospital at the Wellness Center, meadnering throughout the scenic and picturesque hospital campus, eventually ending in Downtown Elkin at the Explore Elkin Food Truck Festival.  Runners/Walkers of any age and ability level are encouraged to attend.  The Explore Elkin Food Truck Festival will take place on Standard Street in Downtown Elkin, and will be begin at approximately 11am.  Anyone in the community is welcome to come and indulge from the food trucks, whether you're a 5k participant or not.  So come and participate in the walk/run, eat some delicious food from the food trucks and have a great time!!

We will offer free 5 minute sports massages for 5k participants before and after the race along with a great variety of snacks and drinks.  There will be shuttles available at the Food Truck Festival, to bring 5K participants back to their vehicles at the hospital until 12:00pm.

9:00am - Registration table opens in parking lot of HCMH Wellness Center.

10:00am - 5K Begins!

11:00am - Food Trucks open for delicious business!

12:00PM - Last shuttle departs Food Truck Festival to return 5K particpants to vehicles.

Restrooms and Aid Stations
Restrooms and shower facilities are available inside the Hugh Chatham Aquatic and Wellness Center before the race begins.  Restrooms and shower facilities are available inside the Yadkin Valley Heritage and Trails Visitor Center at the Finish Line of the race.  Aid stations (First Aid, water coolers, etc) will be located at various locations throughout the 5k course.

Proceeds from this event, through the generosity and support of the HCMH Foundation, will benefit the growth and development of programs planned to meet the services and equipment needs of our community members.  New equipment in both the Wellness Gym, which will benefit gym members as well as Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy patients, and the Aquatic Center is needed to better service and accommodate the needs of our members and community!
