Baby Bell Trail Run

Burns, TN

What better way to celebrate the start of Spring than with a run through the woods? The Baby Bell Trail Run will offer 10K, 5K, and 1M options.

The Friends of Montgomery Bell State Park are excited to host the second annual Baby Bell Trail Run. The Baby Bell fills the space between the other two races hosted by the Friends of MBSP – the Firecracker Glow Run (5K, 1M) and the Bell Ringer Trail Run (50K, 25K, 15K, 5K, 1M). The Baby Bell Trail Run will utilize fire roads and single-track trails with the option to run 1, 3.1, or 6.2 miles through beautiful Tennessee forests; just as the park is waking up for spring (look out for spring wildflowers!).

All proceeds from the Baby Bell Trail Run will go straight back to the Friends of Montgomery Bell State Park. This organization is the non-profit group whose mission is to support the park by providing a quality place for families to recreate and educating visitors on the importance of protecting and preserving the park. This allows Montgomery Bell State Park to continue to go above and beyond to serve park visitors, while hosting events for the community, like our races, holiday celebrations, a Junior Ranger Camp for individuals with special needs, and so much more.

This race will start and end in Montgomery Bell State Park’s historic Group Camp One. The camp was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the mid 1930’s as part of a nationwide public work relief program that provided jobs for young men related to the conservation and development of natural resources in rural public lands. Enrollees of the CCC planted nearly 3 billion trees to help reforest America; constructed trails, lodges, and related facilities in more than 800 parks nationwide; and upgraded most state parks, updated forest fire fighting methods, and built a network of service buildings and public roadways in remote areas.
